In 2021, Microsoft Design sought a fresh take on traditional expressions, and teamed up with Datalands to explore a visual landscape.
With concepts ranging from inclusion to courage, the goal was to create a more universal and emotional set of symbols for people to express gratitude to one another.
To further explore the dimensionality of these icons, Microsoft handed off the visual explorations to Danil Tabacari to bring the 2D illustrations to life.
